Spotify User’s Got Curious to Know What Happened to “Safaera”

Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio,is one of the top singers in our time. Recently, his hit song, Safaera was removed from Spotify for unknown reasons.

Details Of The Removal

Safaera is a song by Bad Bunny, which features Ñengo Flow and Jowell & candy. The song is a part of his recent album YHLQMDLG. The song was released on February 28, 2020, and was a big hit and was one of the most-streamed songs in the Spanish and Latin community.

On May 13, people noticed that the song was no longer available on Spotify. It was removed from the streaming service without any prior notice or any reason for the same.

Fans Response

Fans started pointing this out on social media platforms, especially Twitter. Some even threatened to leave Spotify and switch to other services like Apple Music or Pandora unless the song is brought back. The song hasn’t been removed from either of the abovementioned streaming services.

Possible Reasons

Although Spotify has not given a reason for the removal of the song yet, rumours suggest that it was removed due to too much ” explicit content “. But this shouldn’t be the reason as there are thousands of other songs with explicit lyrics on the service. Some reports suggest that the makers of the song have been hit with a lawsuit which says that about 90% of the song was copied from another Puerto Rican singer. A user on Twitter posted a screenshot of the conversation with Spotify support regarding this issue and the response received was that the song could be removed due to some issue with the rights of the label company.

The writer of the song, Bad Bunny, who wrote the entire song has not responded to this yet.
