Hocus Pocus is a cult-comedy released in the year 1993. The original movie was directed by Jen D’Angelo. It failed to become a successful film at that time. Disney has picked it up now and has decided to make a sequel which will be released in it’s streaming service Disney+.
Hocus Pocus 2 Release Date
The original Hocus Pocus movie was released on July 16, 1993 and was made as a kids halloween movie but failed to become a hit.
Disney has decided to remake the film and has officially announced that Adam Shankman, famous for directing A Walk To Remember, Step Up and What Men Want , will be directing the film. He is currently busy working on other projects. Disney has also announced that the movie will be released in it’s streaming service Disney Plus on 26 October, 2020.
Although this date might be pushed further considering the current coronavirus pandemic.
Hocus Pocus 2 Cast
The original Hocus Pocus starred Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy in the lead roles.
Although Disney has not made any official announcement on the cast of the second movie, we can hope that the original cast will be back to reprise their roles. Some sources say they have already been signed to star in the movie. No other information of the cast is available yet.
Hocus Pocus 2 Plot
Hocus Pocus revolves around three witches, who were cursed in 1693 in Salem. Things change when a boy who recently moved to Salem resurrects these witches by accident. 300 years after being exciled, the witches see the world for something different than they have been in. They see Halloween, has turned into a holiday of celebration. The boy who resurrected her, his sister and his friend team up along with their talking cast to try to stop the witches from consuming every child in town.
This is the plot of the original movie. Although there have been no reports on the plot of the second instalment, we can expect it to be based on the original one.
Nonetheless, the movie is going to be a treat for kids as a halloween movie and a delight for cult fans all over.
